As part of my Master of Sustainable Energy, I completed a course in Energy Efficiency and Transport. This course investigates the role that energy efficiency, behaviour change and low carbon solutions can play in changing energy consumption and transport behaviours to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Topics included energy efficiency and conservation, sustainable energy use, demand management, and behaviour change options across the built environment and transport sectors.
With rising inflation in Australia, cost-of-living expenses have increased substantially, and ordinary Australians are struggling to pay for every day expenses including energy bills [1]. Through investing in energy efficiency, Australians can save significant money on their energy bill. However, this requires a thorough analysis of existing insulation, appliances, current energy usage, and a payback analysis to determine the most cost-effective methods to increase a home’s energy efficiency.
Acting as E3 Consulting, I conducted an energy audit of 92 Best St, Fitzroy North to provide recommendations to both the owners and occupants (tenants).

As part of the energy audit, I reviewed the construction of the property, collected energy usage data, reviewed gas and electricity bills, created a sankey diagram of energy flows, conducted a payback analysis for various options before providing recommendations to both the owners and tenants.
